Regent Cinema
Jerusalem 6/7/2018
My emotional feelings make it so difficult to express my pleasure to be here for this special event.
Regent Cinema is the place where, when I was thirteen years old, together with my brother George, five years older, we saw a number of very good movies of the 1940s. Here at the entrance I left my sister Annoula, ten years younger, unattended in her pram and she fell over.
Now, 70 years later, I am here for the screening of “Jerusalem, We Are Here”. A very special documentary.
I would like to congratulate Dorit and the team for their efforts, hard work and love for the production.
I am thankful to Marina for asking me to take part. Thank you, Marina.
I am grateful to my daughter Nayia and my two granddaughters, Ellie and Sophia, who have travelled with me. Without their assistance I wouldn’t be present.
Growing up in Jerusalem and the traumatic uprooting in 1948 certainly affected the development of my personality.
Jerusalem has always been in my heart. Jerusalem is a city with very old history. Jerusalem is a unique city.
Jerusalem deserves protection and peace.
Thank you
Ellie
